A Cross Story

Big day in Bryce Canyon but I’ll dump pictures later. Suffice is to say the hikes at 8500 ft in the heat (but no humidity😀)wore me out. Anyway the cross: I’m walking back from showering this evening and there were 7 guys building something very enthusiastically and taking pictures with arms around each other. Clearly into something big! So I ask -whatcha building. Guys holler “a cross!” Aha! Pretty awesome a cross about 50 yards from my site - good stuff! Anyway not 5 minutes later I hear the ebullient cross builders were now in second guess, who’s in charge, no no no don’t do it that way mode. And it went on for about 45 minutes. So, goes to show those dudes were just regular dudes trying to work together in common cause etc and their egos and just not great selves come charging in. I’ve got a dozen more fables from this story but you can build your own. When all was said and done they built a fine cross.
